To build greater recognition for the Android operating system and it's association to Google in their partners and customers, whilst still keeping the equity in the brand loved by the developer community Android undertook a brand reset to reintroduce the brand to the world.
The creative concept that anchored the new brand is that Android (due to it having over 2.4 billion users) is everywhere, an invisible connected layer that activates and reveals itself when customers need it.

This 'active layer' threads the new Android brand together, adpating it's behaviour to emphasize moments and assist customers.
Partnered with this active layer is an updated Android symbol 'droid' that heroes and represents the vast communities of users.
